Well, well..

Well well, what have we here, 2 months old of dust for me to start blowing away.

Be mindful, because the following post contains blasting pictures which will, and it will definitely blow your minds away.

Caution.

On board ye deck, ya O mater!
Back row: Yin Qing, Shawn, Amanda, Aloysius
Front row: myself, Yvonne, Samuel

On Board Penguine 3

The Meridians!!

Harris Resort!!

Day one
We went to the city center (which I conveniently forgot the name of the place). Aloysius needed to find white pepper for his boss, which he claimed that is very famous in Batam. But we went to 3 supermarket, however, there is every other spices except white pepper in the spice section. One thing there is that you are able to bargain with the taxi driver regarding the price of the fare, and usually they have no choice but to comply to the request (more like demand) because they have to make a living. One more thing, we really do have the Singaporean Tourist look on the city streets, because wherever we were, the taxi will start to sound theit horn or signal to us asking if we needed a ride. You will not see them doing this to other people along the street. Some drivers who were like resting, will dart out of nowhere, approacing you and straight away they quote a price without you saying anything yet.

Introducing the F&N coffee cream soda!!

See how the coffee cream soda will make your teeth turn white!!
Look at our proud models!

What is that Aloy's pointing to? Ever wondered how fast Amanda's hair grew so long?

Another thing abou the taxis there is that the sppedometer is always non-functional. haha!!

Evening time!

Go-karting!!

Check your blindspot!!!!

Look at the pro. Keep left unless overtaking!! And he/she is keeping right almost all the time!!

The new Rally King, being crown!! and he is into the Pit Stop! Getting a change of vehicle!!

(Faster run away before Aloysius does anything funny or even worse, if he cracks a not funny joke)

Did I mentioned that we went for a 2nd round, and i got this really out of maintananced kart. The accelerator is stuck. So during one of the corner, I skidded into the grass patch, thus i got up and tried to move the kart aside, while doing so, the kart went wild and it moved sightly towards me instead of straight. I (generally) evaded, but unfortunately my left foot forgot to 'siam'. The top of my feet was cut, quite badly. Then came the moment, the only time when I hated alcohol more than ever. The guys used alcohol, and cotton wool to cleanse my wound. Intense is the word to describe all my muscles in my body. I felt like my soul was like a wriggly worm trying to squirm out of a clensed fist, but my tail was stuck to this stupid finger which would not let go. When only my feet is 'alcoholized' my entire body and mind is intoxicated...
Nontheless the karting is really a fulfilling experience.

Dinner at Kelong, Sunset seafood restaurant. Well, actually there was a wedding going on at one side of the restaurant, joyous occasion, wiht music and lights. If not for that,I guessed that our dinenr that night would not be so cosy and romantic, and fun and lame. I remembered when Shawn saying about the flower crab, not being meaty, and that Aloysius said that it's the sweetness of the juice we're after. Then I say to Shawn, "you suck" with loads of pun intended...

Back in the room, all of us are getting ready for the midnight acivity. Bath first, then gather together.

If i'm the photographer, and ther're only 5 person in the pic. Where is the left behind??

As said, he is in the room. The moment he touched the bed, he concussed. Yin Qing. Never Mind about him, we continued our game of Taboo! whith so much fun. fancy me saying 'whipped cream' when i meant 'shaving cream'...

Day 2
Started the day with a Harris resort breakfast.
Then we hit the chlorine waters! @ the in house pool. We played captain's ball, monkey, and did a bit of tanning. Sorry no pictures for this, because all of us went wet...

The afternoon is the excellent get away!!

Can you believe that this is less than half of what we ordered?? believe it.

The triple stack of lotus leaf rice. With compliments from Aloysius Ong!!

We came, we ordered, we conquered!! (because if not, it would be $1 per piece left)

Look at everybody's satisfied face. (wait till you see their BELLY with capital letters)

Everybody waited for their bouyancy level to decrease before anyone dared to attempt any water-sports.
We started with Banana boating. It is like a speed boat pulling an inflated giant banana. And we have to cling onto the banana. The fun part is: the boat will take an acute turn and the banana will capsize. You can try to counter it, that's the fun part man. Using our abs muscles (ya, right) to try to stay on course is defenitely the challenge!! Next is para-silling. (I dun kno if i got the spelling right)

The 1st to try. (being volunteered by them's more the word)
But what an exhilarating view.

Advertisment for the peanut brand as he was being helped at his diapers.

Breathtaking eh?

Touch down. (somebody get this pampers off me...)

"Yeah! it's me turn" said Meow. "Wheeee, here i go........."

Back to earth.

High Up into the sky. Magic parachute ride.
A whole new world
A dazzling place I never knew
But when I'm way up here
It's crystal clear
that now I'm in a whole new world with you

All thanks to our foster parents. They brought us up, didn't they?
(get the pun??)

Back on shore. We lay our hands on the ball. Literally. It Volleyball time along the beach on a romantic evening.

The sweet caress of twilight,
There's magic everywhere.
And with this romantic atmosphere,
Disaster's in the air!

You know what, well, the ball did landed itself in hot soup, off it rolled into the sea water. So Samuel ran after it and jumped into the waters, not knowing that there are sharp rock edges. So, both his soles got sliced, quite badly. Though he did not sound it out, he eventually told us back in the room. The sand was actually stained with his blood.
After bath, this is what.

Ha! caught ya!!

Day3
Breakfast as usual at the resort's cafe.

Cable ski

This is an important mission, you see that there?
You roger me soldier? You cannot fail this operation!!
Sir!YES!Sir!

The 1st capsize, just at the 1st corner.

Here I go again!

All set, and ready to go. The Fantastic 4. Mr Fantastic, Miss Invisible, The Thing, Human Torch
So corny...

What was I looking at. X-men. Wolverine, Rogue, Cyclops, Prof Xavier. Corny²...

Wake-boarding? or Wake up your idea?

I think is wake up your idea.

You are not much better wat...

A sea dog?

Time to go

Who's pulling the ear?

Final Moments in Indonesian waters.

Levitation skills. Who's sleepy anyway?

We meet with a calamity when we reached at 6pm. The NEL MRT train broke down since 12pm. And I have to ruch off to East Coast for a dinner by by colleague. he has just got promoted.

Leonardo

The most talked about storyline of this generation.

I have watched the movie with my colleague just now. 1525 show at the new The Cathay.

You might expect me to have my opinion about this storyline. But, well. My comments about this show will be more on the movie, as in regarding the quality of the show and such.

The various filming location made it very exotic. I do not quite like the camera effects because it was not 'dark' enough given the location where the murder was comited and inside such old place. Not eerie enough. Even before the show is launched, I was doubting that Tom Hanks fits the character of Robert Langdon. I was expecting a younger, more robust man, with sharper facial features. Because, if you have read the description, Robert is a young man about 30ish, being athletic, he was even able to outswim the 'school team' swimmers. Think Hanks... Well, He is good enough for the smart aspect of Robert, but there should be someone else out there who will fit the character better. Overall, the casting was good, very fitting for the other characters. The part that wasnot that good is that the story moved too fast in the movie. Unlike in the book, the movie did not show out the methods the characters used to solve the questions. The methods, is where the excitment lies, the quite painstaking process, the mind grueling steps. Yummy!

Myself as a Christian, hmmm... Well, the show, actually the storyline does have a lot of doubt. Dan Brown does throw in quite some facts. I think he meant those as facts because those things of events that happened really does exists. But does the whole sequences of event since 2 thousand years ago till present day really follows what was described in the book?

I was not disturbed after watching the movie. It is a blockbuster. I will recognise a good movie when i see one. I will enjoy a good movie when I go and see one. I will enjoy the movie for the quality when I am seeing one. And The Da VinCi Code qualifies as a blockbuster, because of the casting, because of the director, because of the filming location, because of the hardwork the actors put in. I was not disturbed because it has not moved my faith.

To those Christians out there, if you have been advised by your Church leaders not to watch, please do not be stuborn. To those whose Church did have sharing sessions regarding this issue, and does not strongly object, and if you want to watch, please have a clear mind.

To the others who have not read the book, PLEASE READ THE BOOK FIRST!! Or else you will get utterly csufneod. PELSAE RAED THE BOOK FRSIT!!

The church stand is that we should know better what is better for ourselves. I understand that.

The last shocking truth for tonight folks: Dan Brown is a Christian. The book is not anti-christian if you noticed. Go find out for yourseld what i meant.

Tomorriw is another Marching day. Police Day Parade is just around the corner.

Thanks Daniel for going on a M:I:iii show with me last weekend!

Good Friday & Easter Sunday

Good Friday & Easter Snday.

First I got a shock. This was bacause, I took leave from my work for the friday and later found out that my service is on Holy Thursday. It was so, as I have asked around regarding the date some time before Good Friday and people had been telling me that service will be on the Good Friday itself. It was not easy to change as there some sort of reservation has been made, and there are arrangement to be done, not only for myself, but also between the team members.
Next, i got another shock. I was deployed to perform Qing Ming Duty on Sunday morning. As they require 2 NS officers, which leaves the 2 of us after the senior ORD. In the end I have to ask around to see who is willing to help me. Ask and you shall be given. I found a colleague who is okay with going.

Holy Thursday
I went to the service late. The time of my knock off plus I spent some time for my replacement for the Qing Ming duty. I reach Church at about 9pm via taxi. The taxi driver talked to me about politics, which is not of the top interest to me, but i responded accordingly with 'ems', 'ahs', and some other terms which meant either agreeing or disagreeing. This year, my church wanted to make the service a solemn one, to commemorate on the last few tormenting hours Jesus went through before his death.

Good Friday
I went to Elim Church to check out their service. Overall the service was not as impressive as what people have been describing to me. Well, to specify clearer, my trip to Elim Church is not to really attend the service, but to check out their style, to see the flow of activities, in another words to see how other chucch do their worship arrangement, take the good points and implement to my worship. Hope can learn something from other churchs.
I met the canteen auntie from the drink's stall from Meridain JC at the church and her son too. We had a chat, but since it was getting late, I had to get lunch for my sister,I excused myself and left the place. I then went to Potong Pasir to get Macs when the sky started pouring. I bumped into Adrain (colleague) at Potong Pasir, really just a hi and I carried on with my way. My pants was wet all the way from the bottom till the knees when I got home even with a umbrella.
Well, then in the evening I went to the English Department (TPBC) of my church building for the Good Friday service. It was about why God allow suffering. As usual, I went there late, in fact very late. At 6pm. The thing ended at 6:30pm, so I decided to do the choosing of songs for my saturday 1724 worship. While doing so, I decided to get a drink and went to the ground floor to get a drink from the vending machine. On the returning trip, I met Candice, she mentioned that it was a very long time since we have seen each other around. Well, I have to agree on what she said on this. Haha. She was with Damien who also happened to be a friend of Qin Qin from kayaking. I have to excuse myself once again as I have not finished choosing my songs. Choose 'fu xing de huo', 'you yi wei shen' and 'you are my all in all'. Then I met Candice and Damien on the way home. Well, it was true that we have not met each other for so long, despite staying so near. But I do not think it was since Christmas, as she had mentioned; it was not like last time when we bumped into each other every other day. She has shortened her hair (according to me), she said that she had cut her hair. I was saying that the last time I saw her, she still have long hair and asked her when did she cut. It was only last week. Well, to any avil does this answer help in any clue how long we have not met each other. Well Damien is in Poly and not done his NS yet (NS is a wonderful time). He did not talk much, I did not know why, althought he did express his concern about NS. Next, Candice suggested thet we hang out often at the newly built palyground so as to increase the probably of bumping into each other. Haha, what a method to use. It's workable, provided with ample time. Haha.

Saturday
Unlike what the disciples did after Jesus died. They got 'lost', and started to return to their old occupations. As people after 2000 plus years Jesus died, we knew what was instore for us. Yupp. I attended 1724, a full session for the first time. I was the worship leader. Felt happy for saturday. The sharing that day was sbout having a spiritual partner in the jouney of bible study, in accordance of the Church programme of SQ000.

Easter Sunday.
I have thought of this, following some bibical examples. The people started their missions after the fast. Should I be doing so too?
That day we have a SF birthday party for the people who is having their birhtday for the 3 months! Had Nasi Lemak and chocolate cake. What a special birthday meal!
After that, Hao Jie and me stayed on to do a little packing for the logistics of SF.

Actually, I went to watch V for Vendetta with Nigel on one of the days before friday, but I forgot when. We went to Cathay Orchard. Nice show. Very Political, nicely planned. The only thing is that I find that the Masked man's attack too absurb to happen in reality. But the ideolody behind him is present. I never doubt that.

Okay I think I am ending this entry. But please do check out the 1724 camp coming right up.

The Chalet...

My Team held a chalet on the 3rd of April. The programmes were as usual. Fun interesting, interactive and it was really a gathering.

Image hosting by Photobucket

Actually there was a family of cats there. Well, they are very cute.

Image hosting by Photobucket

First there was a Barbeque, then folowed by a award presentation. Award presented o officers that have left or are leaving the team. Then it followed by more barbeque, and soon late night came, it was the free and easy time.

I went fishing with my Boss. Fishing is one of his hobby. Great hobby, i realised. It is a very relaxing activity; let me enjoy the breeze, the scenery and the finer things in life.

While we were at the beach, there was a very funny incident. You see, there was a cat, quite large for a cat, there and it put up a very great show down.

Image hosting by Photobucket

We were playing with the cat, stroking its fur and all. Then came a man walking his 2 dogs. 2 dogs, size larger then the cat. My guess is that one is a retriever and the other is a sheepdog (apologies, i'm not so good with identifying a dog's breed). The 1st dog carrried on walking with the man, just then the 2nd dog spotted the cat. The cat was originally sitting down, relaxing. Upon sighting the cat it stopped its step. The cat turned its head and look at that dog. The dog kept still while the cat stood up. Seeing that the dog remained still, the cat then took 2 paces forward. It then does the cat trademark stretching and arching its back action, strecthing out the paws and flaunting the claws. Still the dog kept still. The cat assume position. There was a few sends of silence. The 1st dog also saw the stand-up, and walked back to sort of back up the 2nd dog. Then came the exciting part.
The cat exploded, darting forward for about 4 paces. The 2 dogs was shocked by this movement and took a few steps backward, one of them almost ran. The 2nd dog then retreated when master called for them. But the 1st dog which walked back just down carried on staring at the cat. It was reluctant to move until the master called for the 3rd time. Then with it's eyes still on the cat, it walked away, towards the master.
My friend was saying that the master "paiseh" then "faster faster come, lets go." The incident was so funny.

Next, I got my hands on the fishing rod, and learnt some casting techniques from my Boss. It was easy once one know how to coordinate the timimg of releasing the string and the swinging momentum. For me, I stayed at the beach fishing until morning with my Boss and Iz.

Back at the Chalet, I took more pictures of the cats.

All Around Singapore

All around Singapore. Well, these few weeks I've been to Orcahrd (to work), to Yio Chu Kang (to do some sports), to East Coast (to do more sports), to Jurong (to get my self hurt) and to Hougang (to get myself diagnosed).

Image hosting by Photobucket

This is Yio Chu Kang stadium. Went there on 2 seperate occasions. On the 7th and 14th March. Participated in the field events. Could not do any worse. 7+ m for my shot putt and 15+ m for my discus. Such a lousy performance. Well, it was for the fun of it. People trained for it, but not me, i guessed i just went there to make this part of my NS life a tini weenie bit more exciting. The champ for the 2 event (actually the same person) is actually a National thrower. Throwing 13+ m for shot and 30+ m for discus that day. Hmm.. Even the Ghurkas could not beat him at this. But generally the Ghurkas did excellent for the track events and also performed in the field events. They dominated the track. The champions would be ahead of the 1st-runner up by at least 2-3 rounds for the long distance (10000m event), clocking a 5 second lead every single round (one round lead by 5, 2nd round lead by 10, 3rd round lead by 15 etc.)

IPPT for me. 15th March. I just managed to scrape through it. Having done the static stations at HQ, then the 2.4km run at east coast. Timing of 11:16. it is down performance compared to my previous timing of 10:50. Well, i passed. Then my Teammates were having their own IPPT training followed by a game of soccer at East Coast, but i could not seem to locate them, then i went back to have my rest.

Same day. Afternoon came. I was very reluctant (very tired ah!!) , but still went for the SF activity. Look at my transformation, the metamorphosis!

Well. It was like this. it was about 1800hrs. I was still in the rink trying to adjust my footing, just then, my right foot's front brake (the teethy thing at the front of the blade) scraped on to the ice, causing me to lean forward. The left foot front brake the was stuck in the ice, acting as a pivot; i then fell forward, my feet twisting outwards. To further elaborate, my left heel is now pointing towards the sky and soon to point forward, and my left knee is also pulled along. My full body weight was rested on the unbalanced ankle. The whole procedure happened very slowly because the skate has very high and stable collar; it slows down my fall and also reduces the damages. If not the thing will just go 'snap'...

The next day i woke up as usual, wanting to prepare myself for duty, but the ankle stopped my from doing so. I then called my supervisor who then made an arrangement to call back one of my colleague (who supposedly is on leave). I felf bad for this, but the decision is not up to me. I felt good bacause i can rest myself and my feet. Later in the morning, i went to Hougang Polyclinic. My father fetched me there. It was a gruelling wait. The doctor told me that is was an injury to the tendon and muscle, and the nurse gave me the bandage to aid in the additional support that my ankle probable need. Well then i rested at home for the whole day.

Although i am able to rest physically. My brain kept on working. My sister and cousin bombarded me with Mathematics questions.

I still want people to see my beautiful feet! Even in bandages! Isaiah 52:7

Backtrack

Well, daniel, Russell & i met up for dinner at Carl's junior at Suntec City some time ago. Well, the food there is as usual, the best so far for burgers and such. We've realised that the Marina branch's quality has dropped. Then Daniel has a gift for me. in a bright red wrapper. The moment i received the package from him, i knew instantly what it was. Gundam models. It was a be-lated birthday cum Christmas cum New Year cum Chinese New Year cum St. Valentine's Day present. Wow, so touched. Haha.
